Leeds Community and Festival of Play

The Leeds Community of Play celebrates the amazing people and organisations committed to making our city more playful. The Community of Play is for everyone: it doesn’t matter where you are on a journey of playfulness – come and join the movement to make Leeds the most playful city in the galaxy.

The Community of Play

The Community of Play creates a network of people with a shared commitment to play. It’s a celebration of our proud history of play, with an aim to build on our strengths by working together to do something great.

There have been several community meet-ups — drawing over 100 local participants from various backgrounds — including individuals and business owners. The community of play has a vision to inspire playfulness across our neighbourhoods and the entire city of Leeds.

The Festival of Play

Child Friendly Leeds were part of a community of playful spirits who organised the first city-wide DIY Festival of Play and Creativity, running 25 October to 3 November 2024. Working alongside Playful Anywhere, library workers, community members, council workers, third sector partners, artists, residents and many more – we are committed to making play a priority.
