Get Involved with the Awards
Be a part of next Child Friendly Leeds Awards
There are a few different ways that children and young people can be a part of the Child Friendly Leeds awards. They can:
- Join the planning group - The next Child Friendly Leeds awards are due to take place in July 2026 at City Varieties Theatre. As always, the awards were planned and delivered by a group of young people, typically between the ages of 11 and 18. The young people plan and run the event, from the theme and entertainment to the script ideas and appearing on stage. Young people apply to be a part of this group and attend a number of meetings and rehearsals.
- Perform as part of the awards ceremony - the awards ceremony has multiple slots for performances from young people. We welcome any young person with a talent (it doesn't just have to be singing or dancing) to put themselves forward to perform at our awards ceremony.
- Present an award - this may be the perfect opportunity for any budding presenter, who would like the chance to get on stage to introduce one of the awards categories and even reveal the runner-up and winner.
If you are a young person (or you know someone) who would like to be involved in the next awards, please complete this expression of interest form.
Young people can also be recognised in the awards, in the 'Child / Young Person of the Year' award category. Nominations are due to open over the summer months of 2025. All children and young people who are nominated in this category receive recognition. All children and young people shortlisted are invited to attend the awards ceremony with their families/guests.
We are seeking sponsorship for our 2026 awards. If you are a business and would like to receive our sponsorship package, please get in touch at childfriendlyleeds@leeds.gov.uk
